Intro ~

Wow!! I launched a podcast on Wednesday! Thank you so much for supporting me, for listening, and for carrying my voice with you and holding it next to your heart.

I never understood why some people say that starting a business/podcast/new endeavor is like giving birth. "They" say, "...when I birthed my podcast...blah blah blah". I always felt that was a little hyperbolic... but what I do understand is that birth is a portal, an initiation into a new way of being. And sharing my voice in the world in this new way absolutely feels like an initiation into a new way of being, a magical door that I've just walked through into a whole new world that I've created. Thank you for stepping through this door with me <3

Lesson Plan ~ What does gratitude feel like?

On Friday morning I was driving to work and I was pondering how I would explain what gratitude is to my future child. I was imagining us playing in our kitchen, and how by properly explaining this word, it could radically improve my child's life. How do you describe the word "gratitude" without the resonance or the embodiment that comes with it? I thought maybe I would say, "it's when you're really happy that you have something, and you appreciate that"; but then I started wondering how I would define the word "appreciate" to a 5 year old. Then I went back to singing in the car.

It did get me thinking though about how gratitude is a feeling of pure love and embodiment, and also of devotion and prayer and joy and yummy-tingly-sensations. When I feel grateful, I feel like I'm being wrapped in a warm sparkly blankey by the Universe. There is a moment of serenity and of needing nothing beyond myself when I am grateful. And to be clear, I mean a literal moment. Like one second until my brain goes back to thinking of matcha and shoes that I "need". BUT that ONE MOMENT is SO important! The more moments we have like that, the more moments we have like that. You know what I mean?

There have been so many studies on gratitude and how it makes you a happier, more content person, and how it improves your life. I don't really read these studies, but I hear about them on podcasts. I like to change my morning spiritual practice up from time to time like little experiments and see what meditations resonate depending on what I'm currently moving through; one thing I've noticed is that I am happier when I incorporate gratitude into my day. It isn't a bursting OMG IM SO HAPPY LIKE A LITTLE BUNNY RABBIT JUST HOPPING AROUND ALL DAY type of happy, it is a quiet and gentle feeling that builds like compound interest. It is such a yummy delicious feeling to embody! Currently, after I turn the lights out before I go to sleep, I imagine myself being covered in radiant white light. I send that white light of love and safety and peace to my parents, my family, my sister and her boyfriend and his family thousands of miles away, my future partner, my spiritual team, and then I try to recall a few things from the day that I feel grateful for. One of my favorite things that I continuously feel grateful for is my connection to God/the Divine, because it brings me so much peace and joy knowing that everything in my life is happening for me and not to me. And that I am always guided (when I follow my intuition).

If you are a gratitude beginner, this 10 minute meditation will help you understand the embodiment aspect of this beautiful sacred accessible essence. It is also a great guided practice for meditators of all levels :) Once you feel that embodied sense of gratitude, like a 6th sense in a juicy way, you can channel it and access it at all times.

More to share on this week's podcast episode :)

with heaps of gratitude and love,

Gaby

Spark ~

(a few things currently sparking joy/curiosity/inspiration)

Cindy of Awakening To Spirit on Youtube is a magnetic human. She is purely herself, a witchy woman with long grey hair and braces. And a very talented Tarot reader. I love her videos and how she puts together the puzzle and the story of the cards.

I feel incredibly grateful for my friends this week. With so many fun and spontaneous summer hangouts happening, I am soaking up every minute of time with the special humans that I surround myself with.

~ thank you thank you thank you ~

* see you next week, sending you beams of Reiki love through the ethers from my heart to yours *
