Intro ~
Funny that last week I wrote about gratitude, and this past week has been OVERFLOWING with love and juicy gratitude for my LIFE. I appreciate so much that every time I share how much I love my life / how grateful I am / how there are thousands of tiny blessings and miracles always happening (the good things and the challenges), my mom reminds me that it didn’t come without deep work.
In the Aquarius July Tarot reading from Jane International Tarot - who I love if you missed that - she said something that has really stuck with me: Everything you desire is coming into your life, but not because you go out and get it, because you have created it.
I get to honor the past versions of myself who was sad/anxious/depressed/hardworking/in therapy by accepting and receiving the joy and abundance that is all around me. We go through times in our life when we are in deep healing, and we go through phases in which we get to pick the fruit of our labors. I am picking fruit alongside of continuing to heal and click into place when the opportunity arises. Actually, the fruit is just falling perfectly ripe off the tree into my lap! Because I planted the seeds years ago, watered this life for myself, and then practice patience and mindful loving awareness in the meantime. THE DAY YOU PLANT THE SEED IS NOT THE DAY YOU EAT THE FRUIT !
Lesson Plan ~ Ace of Cups
Imagine that your heart/your energy is a beautiful chalice of water, and everyday you have the opportunity to fill up your cup with things that light you up. Walking, painting, calling a friend, etc. You also have the opportunity to share the water in your cup with your community in your neighborhood / at work / your friends, holding space, working in an excel doc with v-lookups, driving a friend to the airport, etc. It is crucial that we are mindfully aware of what fills us and what drains us, of where we want to give and where we feel like we have to. How can we give from an empty cup? Where do you give where you don’t receive in return? The Ace of Cups is a beautiful Tarot card that represents emotional fulfillment, creativity, love, abundance, generosity, and newness. Here is a description from Biddy Tarot, and if you’d like to learn how to read Tarot her website is a great reference ~
With the Ace of Cups, Divine love and compassion are pouring through you. You are a vessel for deep, spiritual love from the Universe, and you can’t help but let that love flow through you and into the world. You receive love, you give love, you ARE love. Your heart overflows. Give yourself permission to open yourself to giving and receiving unconditional love, and you will notice that affection flows effortlessly when you are in this loving state of mind…The water in the card reflects the flow of emotion, and thus, the Ace of Cups suggests that the enthusiasm you generate will get you fired up about yourself and life…There is a generous, compassionate side to the Ace of Cups, too. See this as a time of giving (not taking) and make the most of any opportunity to help others. You have the power to share your inner radiance and positive energy, bringing great happiness to those around you. And you will find that the more you give, the more you receive on multiple levels.
BUT HOW CAN WE GIVE FROM AN EMPTY CUP? How can we fill our cups up with the things that bring us joy and love so that we simply overflow and just by being ourselves in this state of overflowing love we contribute effortlessly to what is around us? My goal is to spend my days doing what brings me comfort, peace, laughter, joy, prosperity in all forms, so that when I walk into a room, my energy is simply giving without me overextending myself.
My dear friend Talia, who you should all meet, talks about filling our own cup before we can fill the cups of those around us. This is much easier said than done, but it just takes practice.
This last week has been the most juicy gift of Ace of Cups energy - spending so much time with friends who fill my heart up and I do the same for them with giggles and cuddles and singing in the car and park sunset hangs, with job opportunities seemingly “falling out of the sky” for me to be expanded by and perhaps for them to unfold (we don’t know yet!), and with my magnetism attracting the best people into my circle. This flow of giving and receiving, of the Ace of Cups within my heart, is such an energy of summer that I love to completely immerse myself in. Would love to hear how this resonates with You <3
with heaps of love and gratitude,
Gaby
Spark ~
(a few things currently sparking joy/curiosity/inspiration)
One month from today I will be traveling for quite a while :) I am so grateful and looking forward to this journey! Seeking linen pants for the European summer heat and packing tips for one month in a carry-on.
Follow Salmon Creek Farm on Instagram for cabin, northern California inspiration, and awe. They have cabins that you can rent and also residencies for Queer and BIPOC + folks <3 I will be going in April !!
Usal is a platform for bookable experiences rooted in nature in Los Angeles. Their website says "community through nature" which I love, and I'm excited to keep my eyes on their calendar for a surfing lesson or foraging hike ! Looks so cool and authentic.
This last week I have been listening to the album Back Home Again by John Denver almost exclusively. I have "The Music is You" and "Matthew" specifically on repeat - who knew there was a song about Kansas!! I love him so much.
~ thank you thank you thank you ~
* see you next week, sending you beams of Reiki love through the ethers from my heart to yours *
